A: Create the body #

  1. Cast on M stitches onto one needle
  2. Knit N columns until you have a sheet of size M x N

B: Add the face #

  1. Transfer K stitches onto the other pin. You should have K + J on the other side where J is the number of stitches the face will be.

  1. With your second color yarn (red), add one row on the shorter side. After you come and go once, at the end take two s when knitting, one of each color and continue normally. Every time your each the end, take two for the remaining columns. Keep going until you have L red columns for the face.
  2. Bind off the end.

C: Add the seam #

  1. Gather all stitches on one needle and add two rows of seam.
  2. Leave a bunch of yarn at the end so that it can be used to sow shut the slipper in the next step.

D: Sow shut #

  1. Invert the slipper and sow it shut such that the outward facing part is enclosed. Use the extended yarn from the seam.
  2. Once you’re done, invert it back and cut the end of the yarn. Close it out.

E: Create the base #

  1. Create the base by adding an extra row for every 2 columns and then once at the peak reduce a row for every two columns until you have the shape shown below. You might need to adjust how often you add/reduce, 2 works for most slippers.

F: Attach the base #

  1. Sow the base onto the slipper
